New water clarification and sludge treatment plant
Main requirements:

  • Complex construction site due to concurrent installation of the aggregate washing plant
  • Space saving to integrate the water treatment plant with the aggregate washing plant
  • Tight deadlines for on-site assembly (less than 2 months)
  • High volumes of water to be clarified, up to 400m³/h
  • Flocculation of dirty water full of suspended solids and optimization of flocculant dosage
  • Dewatering of clay sludge with automatic dosing of lime milk
  • Fully automated plant, tested and handed over on a turnkey basis

Plant details

Reduced footprint

In order to be able to place the plant on an uneven ground close to the washing plant.

In only 20m x 25m the plant delivers up to 400m³/h of water in closed cycle and treats up to 20 ton/h of dry solids.

Installation in a complex construction site

With tight deadlines according to a site schedule defined in agreement with the customer and the inert wash plant manufacturer.

Plant assembly carried out in less than 2 months.

Heavy steel structures built ad-hoc

Transported on site by standard trucks and assembled in a short time.

Pre-fitted containerized technical room

Thermally insulated and air-conditioned, it hosts the flocculation unit, the sludge pump and the process water pump.

Filterpress mod. FPTA 1620L/120/30

The filterpress was designed to manage sludge with a clay content (<2µm) greater than 30% by weight of the total fines.

The filterpress allowed to handle the overall sludge quantity with a total cycles number around 4500 (July 2023)

64m³ sludge tank

The installation of a mixed sludge tank permitted to further increase the storage already included in the vertical static clarifier, while allowing the sludge to be mixed properly with the lime milk.

Chemically-assisted dewatering

In case the content of clay is above 30% by weight over total fine particles, the simple mechanical dewatering doesn’t represent the right solution.
With the automatic lime milk preparation and dosing system, where the lime milk recirculates continuously and is dosed automatically in the sludge tank, there is the guarantee that pressed sludge cakes are always solid and drip-free.

Filterpress Housing

Quickly assembled on site and positioned by a single crane operation.
